Man of Tai Chi (2013)- Upcoming Movie

Oh hello Keanu.

After years of staying out of the Hollywood scene and a series of low-key films, Keanu Reeves reemerges in the action film “Man of Tai Chi”. While he is not the lead character of the film, famous martial artists stars Tiger Chen and Karen Mok are sure to bring brilliant fighting scenes.

In bustling Beijing, China, ambitious young “Tiger” Chen Lin-Hu (Tiger Chen) works as a lowly courier; but after work, he is a young martial arts star, rising through the ranks representing the Ling Kong Tai Chi tradition.  Though most associate Tai Chi with peaceful, yoga-like movements, Tiger has perfected the ancient art and started to make a name for himself in the prestigious Wulin Wang martial arts championship.
Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, police investigator, Suen Jing-Si (Karen Mok), who works for the organized crime unit OCTB, has run into a wall in her pursuit of Donaka Mark (Keanu Reeves).  Donaka is a powerful Hong Kong businessmen who runs a secret underground fighting ring, where cold hard cash is made by defeating one’s opponent in a no-holds barred fight privately broadcast to wealthy patrons.  Looking for a new “star,” Donaka tries to lure Tiger with the promise of easy money.
At first, Tiger declines, committed to the purity and integrity of his pursuit.  But when his temple is threatened with redevelopment, Tiger relents so that he may protect the legacy of Ling Kong Tai Chi.  Soon, Tiger is an underground sensation, defeating international opponents with reputations of deadly force.  But the darker side of Tiger’s skill begins to emerge.  His public fights in the Wulin Wang tournament become more aggressive, bringing Tiger unwanted attention and shame to his elderly master (Yu Hai)
Seemingly unable to harness the darkness inside of himself, Tiger eventually agrees to work with Jing-Si to bring down Donaka’s deadly private game.  But when every fight is the fight of his life, will Tiger be able to sustain his best intentions and manage the darkest and worst possibilities of his craft?

Movie comes out on July 14, 2013.

Despicable Me 2- Upcoming Movie

After months of watching the never tiring, always funny trailer (no matter how many times you've watched it), "Despicable Me 2" finally arrives in the Philippines this July 3. Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s worldwide blockbuster Despicable Me entertained audiences around the globe in 2010, grossing more than $540 million and becoming the 10th-biggest animated motion picture in U.S. history.  Get ready for more Minion madness in Despicable Me 2.

Chris Meledandri and his acclaimed filmmaking team create an all-new comedy adventure featuring the return of (former?) super-villain Gru (Steve Carell), his adorable girls, the unpredictably hilarious Minions...and a host of new and outrageously funny characters.

Now that the ever-entrepreneurial Gru has left behind a life of super crime to raise Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Elsie Fisher), Gru, Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand) and the Minions have some free time on their hands.

But just as he starts to adjust to his role as a suburban family man, an ultra-secret organization dedicated to fighting evil around the globe comes knocking.  Now, it’s up to Gru and his new partner, Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig), to discover who is responsible for a spectacular crime and bring him to justice.  After all, it takes the world’s greatest ex-villain to catch the one vying to take his place…

Joining the returning cast for Despicable Me 2 are Ken Jeong as Floyd Eagle-san, proprietor of the local hair replacement club for men and key suspect in the most despicable crime to hit the globe since Gru departed the game; Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom, Lucy’s boss in the Anti-Villain League and a superspy whose surname offers an endless source of amusement to the Minions; Moises Arias as Antonio, the oh-so-suave object of Margo’s girlhood affection (and Gru’s supreme annoyance); and Benjamin Bratt  as Eduardo Perez, Antonio’s father, owner of Salsa & Salsa restaurant, and the man who may or may not be the most macho super-villain who ever villained, El Macho.  “Despicable Me 2” is released and distributed by Universal Pictures/United Intl. Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corp.

Mark your calendars for this is one movie you are sure to watch, whether you get dragged to it by kids or you just choose to indulge your inner child.
