Review:
The Wolverine follows Logan as he runs away to Japan after he kills Jean Grey in the “Last Stand”. He attends the funeral of an old acquaintance and finds himself in the middle of a kidnapping attempt. As he takes on the role of protector, he continues to be haunted by dreams of his love and questions his life as an immortal.

Unlike other sequels, this one is slightly better than the original movie. Jackman is Wolverine as much as Downey is Stark. As a Hugh fan girl, I enjoyed this movie very much thanks to the gratuitous shots of Jackman’s upper torso in skimpy white tanks or nothing at all. That aside, Jackman versatility and dedication to his craft made him shine way way brighter than all his co-stars combined. He pulls in the audiences to his inner struggles and frustration in his most vulnerable state. His performance saved the movie.

Other aspects were less than perfect. I was not impressed with the CGI. There were cheesy and awkward scenes with Jean Grey, as though forcing the connection with the previous movie. As fascinated as I am with Japanese culture, this movie didn’t give it justice with all the sterotypes it throws in(yakuza, love hotels, ninjas). While the fight scenes were impressive, the story was scattered and the pacing was problematic. I guess I am this harsh since I really expected much more from this film. It is still a good Marvel movie as you can see in may above rating and worth watching in a cinema. I am not sure true blue fans will be too pleased. Note: It is a Marvel movie… wait a little bit after the credits appear.

Fave Character:
Logan (perfect)

Least Liked Character:
Jean Grey (meh...)

Fave Quote: (NV)
Logan: You asked me to come back to say goodbye… Well, sayonara

Fave Scene:
Bullet train fight scene (fast, funny, and well choreographed)
